What is
wel+

Warriors for Embodied Liberation+ (WEL+) is a 2-year (min) teacher training program for individuals looking to cultivate skills and certification on embodied coaching™ and training, specific to the developed model of embodied leadership and embodied organizing™ as innovated by its creator, Rusia Mohiuddin, the principal of universal partnership.

What is
Embodied Liberation?

Embodied liberation is a living practice on how we get free and stay free. Achieving liberation is how we undo the lesions on our collective humanity caused by capitalism, white supremacy, and all other isms. Embodied liberation is a practice that not only moves us closer to liberation but also ensures we are the manifestation of our values so when we achieve collective liberation we are primed to sustain it because liberation literally lives inside of our bodies.

Embodied
coaching™

This model of coaching centers humanity & is driven by practices of change that acutely align with who & how we want to be in the world. Embodied Coaching™ is about change work that results in living a life as the embodied manifestation of our values. It integrates both how unique experiences shape individuals as well as models of how we tend to change, intentionally & unintentionally, to ground individuals towards charting a personal change process that lasts a lifetime.

Embodied Training
& Facilitation

WEL+ students engage in, practice, learn to facilitate, and train on a growing number of core methodologies, specifically created for the WEL community. This work serves first as a grounding in lived experiences of  change and transformation, then as a springboard for people to take those experiences to create models and methodologies of their own to use in their own communities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I've been accepted to the program and I need some help with tuition. What can I do?

WEL+ is not a funded program and that’s a good thing and not such a good thing. Without funding, we can decide to have flexibility and full agency on all things related to the program. Also, without funding, means we are unable to offer scholarships or waive tuition fees. What we can do, is offer flexibility on how folks pay, the amount of their payments, and when payments are made, based on the individual needs of the participants. Essentially, for folks who are unable to pay the full tuition before the start of the program, each person can determine and share a payment plan that works for their individual financial needs. Unfortunately, we do not have staff to support how folks fundraise other than providing a platform to do so. It is important to understand that the responsibility and labor of raising and paying tuition is solely the responsibility of the participants.

What happens if I miss sessions? Will there be make up sessions available?

WEL+ is a rigorous program and requires a deep commitment to oneself and to the community. WEL+ does not have a staff team and we cannot offer make up sessions. To support people in committing and planning to attend all the sessions, we offer session dates with a lot of advance notice. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that adequate and necessary planning takes place to be present for every session.

We do account for emergencies and allow for up to 2 missed sessions for any 2 year period.

I want to do this program with a partner or with my staff team. How dies this work?

Historically, we have had many cohorts with connected folks participating together. We are set up to navigate this and many find it incredibly beneficial to engage in a change process with folks who are naturally a part of their daily lives.

I have a question that is not listed here. Can I reach out to someone for more support?

Yes! You can connect with the person who nominated you as they are either currently in a wel track or was a part of a previous cohort. You may also email us directly.
